The head of the Forum for Political Dialogue, Ermal Hasimja, stated that an agreement has been reached on the Electoral Code, for greater representation by small parties.
Invited tonight to 'Top Story', Hasimja said that this is an opportunity to reduce the monopoly of the two major political parties, which he called "dinosaurs".
"We have been working for about a month and a half. We managed to reach an agreement on the issue of the Electoral Code. The request of the small parties was to change the Code. We ourselves have proposed it, because the influx of new parties reduces the monopoly of the two big 'dinosaurs' of Albanian politics.
Small parties have had the request for the national proportional system. We have had the agreement of the DP on this issue. The issue of the Parliament with 140 is also important. The two main forces are clashing over the issue of 140. There is also the issue of pre-election coalitions that provide new opportunities for representation. There is also the issue of open lists. It is in the interest of the Albanian citizen for better representation", said Hasimja.
