"Partizani" file, Rama can testify! SPAK does not oppose the request,

The Special Prosecution Office did not object to the summoning of Prime Minister Edi Rama as a witness in the criminal trial dubbed "Partizani" with the main defendant on charges of corruption committed in collaboration with former Albanian Prime Minister Sali Berisha.

Rama's summons was requested by the defendants' lawyers, who claim that he is the one who changed the destination of the Partizani sports club, an issue about which he has never been questioned, at a time when Berisha, his son-in-law Malltezi and several other people have been named as defendants.

Prosecutors said that they would leave this matter to the court's assessment, not objecting to the prime minister's summons as a witness in the trial.

While they insisted in the Special Court that the defendants' and their lawyers' claims for invalidity of evidence be dismissed, which would essentially invalidate the process. "We demand that these claims be disregarded and dismissed," the prosecutors said.

In order to make a decision regarding the parties' preliminary requests, the hearing was postponed to April 15.

Berisha is accused of corruption after, according to SPAK, he favored his son-in-law in the privatization of the Partizani sports club, while Jamarbër Malltezi is accused of corruption and money laundering, and several other defendants are also accused of the same offense.

Meanwhile, this Thursday, the next hearing was held at the GJKKO for the review submitted by Jamarbër Malltezi and his wife Argita Malltezi for the lifting of the seizure of 25 of his assets.

During the hearing, lawyer Klodian Skënderi stated that his client is unable to lead a normal life due to the seizure of his assets. Malltezi stated that for this reason he is unable to pay his lawyers, violating his right to effective protection and access to justice, facts that were disputed by SPAK.
