During a conversation with followers on Facebook, the political leader of the Euro-Atlantic Coalition, Lulzim Basha, answered the question "why did Sali Berisha betray?" He mentioned his successes, such as winning 7 mandates in 2005 and 2009, and his commitment in the battle against Edi Rama. According to him, the sacrifices for the DP have been great and he has made difficult decisions to protect the interests of the Democrats, such as the decision in 2021 to stand by the US.
According to him, Sali Berisha today pays 6 million dollars for a visa to go to America, while if he had followed the path he himself promised of not involving the DP in the conflict with the US, he would be in power today.
Basha also answered the question about his relationship with Edi Rama. He emphasized that the prime minister is involved in a scandal with McGonigal, who has been convicted of corruption. According to him, Rama has used everything to fight the opposition, while he himself has remained clean and without compromising the principles and interests of citizens.
Basha said that the vote for the criminal amnesty, which he himself opposed, showed who is on Rama's side, while some Democratic MPs voted to support Rama's corrupt people. He called for the vote for the Euro-Atlantic Coalition, number 4, on May 11, to be an opportunity to continue the fight against corruption and to protect the interests of citizens.
