The leader of the Socialist Party in Lezha, Ermal Pacaj, as well as the Socialist candidate for MP, has publicly denounced an unprecedented event that occurred last evening in Lezha.
Pacaj states that several armed men, on orders from the DP candidate for MP in Lezha, Gjin Gjoni, went to the bar of the father of the SP candidate, Klotilda Ndreca, and threatened the family members that they would be taken hostage.
"At the property of the father of our candidate for MP, armed men have appeared threatening to take the SP chairman and the father of the candidate for MP hostage. We have addressed the state authorities, they must take measures. Every night, DP militants circulate late at night, without reason, to track and create their alibi for defeat in the May 11 elections. A report has been filed," said Paci.
Pacaj continued with the denunciations, saying that Gjoni has gone out into the field and is intimidating voters by "spreading unfounded accusations against SP leaders in various areas, including some campaign headquarters leaders, accusing them of vote buying."
After submitting the complaint to the Lezha DVP, Pacaj declared that the SP will also address the OSCE observer office to inform about the situation and to request stricter monitoring of the campaign.
Police sources confirm that two people are wanted in connection with the incident that occurred last evening in Dajç, Lezha:
"The Crime Investigation Specialists of the Lezha Police Commissariat referred the materials to the Prosecutor's Office and declared citizens Xh. S., 27 years old, and I. Gj., 40 years old, wanted as suspected perpetrators of the criminal offenses "Threat or violence of election participants" and "Illegal possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition".
Their wanted list was announced after at around 23:25 on 04.05.2025, citizens EN and DN notified the Lezha Police Operations Room that initially the vehicle they were traveling in was followed by 2 other vehicles, and then in the village of Dajç, they were threatened with weapons by the citizens traveling in the two vehicles, for claims related to the electoral campaign of their sister, candidate for deputy of the Lezha district, citizen KN.
Immediately after the notification, the Police services launched investigations, with the aim of clarifying the authorship and circumstances of the case. From the investigative actions so far, it is suspected that the authors of the threat are citizens Xh. S., 27 years old and I. Gj., 40 years old. The Police services continue to work intensively to capture them. Also, under the direction of the Lezha Prosecutor's Office, investigations are being carried out to clarify and document with legal evidence all the circumstances of this case.
A few days ago, the democratic candidate Gjin Gjoni clashed with the mayor of Lëzha, Pjerin Ndreu.
