The process for the People's Advocate has started in a mechanism that is not fair and legal. This was stated by Democratic MP Gjin Gjoni on Off the Record with Andrea Dangli on A2 CNN, after Berisha declared that the DP will boycott the process. Gjoni emphasized that the Socialist Party seeks to take over the People's Advocate through a mechanism that is not legal.

"The SP declared from the beginning that it would be left to the DP, but the way the schemes are constructed results in the SP wanting to take it with a mechanism that is not legal and as their candidacy. The process must be transparent."

The Democratic MP denied having signed for Endri Shabani, whom the Democratic leader declared would be the new People's Advocate.

"I did not give Mr. Shabani a signature, not because I am a better man than others. But the problem is that at the first moment, for the purpose of the candidacy, he was left in a free fall until he went to the candidacy. At the moment when all the phases were passed, the laws committee made a decision, which is reflected in the minutes of the session of the laws committee, that a deputy cannot sign more than one candidacy, which the Laws Committee itself considered the entire process null. But on the other hand, the parliamentary regulations allow it. The Democratic Party has the option with the deputies to submit only one candidacy, not two candidacies. It cannot submit six candidacies because it is not normal for a deputy who signs for one candidacy to go to parliament in violation of what the law provides ," emphasized Gjoni on Off the Record with Andrea Dangli on A2 CNN.

John brought to attention the choice of Igli Totozan, when the SP proposed him as the sole candidate.

"The Socialist Party came with a single candidacy, it came with Igli Totozan. Now there is a procedure and a standard here. The problem is very simple. If the Socialist Party really wants to leave the People's Advocate to the Democratic Party, let's put forward a single candidacy," Gjoni said on Off the Record with Andrea Dangli on A2 CNN.

According to Gjoni,  "collecting signatures to run and going before the laws committee is not the same thing as the qualification that occurs after the laws committee. There are two procedures."
