We are witnesses to the atrocity that is taking place in Vlora!

Vlora today is no longer the city we have known, worked and loved.
Amid the collapse of industry, the business that is giving up its soul, the frightening emptying of the city by young people, stressed people, tourism without infrastructure and education in agony, Vlora is turning into a ghost town without memory and without identity.

This is not a coincidence, it is intentional.
This is a consequence of the destructive policies, misgovernment, and corruption that have ruled Vlora for years and years.

The historic areas of the city are no longer as generations of Vlora residents have known them.
Instead of thoughtful development and respect for history, Vlora has seen construction without criteria, concrete without vision and the disappearance of historical memory.
I have never been against development, I am even its promoter, but development cannot be done by destroying the identity of the city.
And this very city has been treated by the government and even more so by the municipality as a territory for political and clientelistic interests, not as a national asset that must be protected.

Today Vlora is losing the battle with its heritage.
We have less and less to show to foreigners and our children, because historical memory has been replaced with concrete, chaos and soulless projects.
This is the direct responsibility of those who have and have had power and decision-making over this city.

But Vlora is not just the recently created squares, but also the meaningless streets and buildings.

Vlora is its people and its history.
And today many of them are tired, disappointed and numb to a reality where corruption, party militancy and chronic incompetence have become order and culture.
Those who have governed the city for years are not held accountable.
They are not held accountable for the emptying of Vlora by young people.
They are not held accountable for the indiscriminate destruction.
They are not held accountable for the corruption and the connections of central and local politics with mafia interests.

The Rilindas who have governed Vlora for the past 13 years cannot talk about dignity when the city itself has been treated without dignity.
They cannot talk about development when the city is losing its identity and people are abandoning it.

In this situation, the beneficiaries are not the citizens.
The only beneficiaries are the interest clans and politically connected groups, who for years have used and manipulated Vlora for power and profit.

Therefore, today Vlora does not need silence or lukewarm reactions on social networks.
Vlora needs a civic revolt against the arrogance of power, corruption and the destruction of its identity.
Because a city that remains silent in the face of injustice risks losing not only its future, but also its history.

Vlora is not the property of the government, it is not a laboratory for political experiments, nor a tool for cleaning the pockets of its clients.
