Last night there was a serious incident where the journalist Mr. Gjegj Zefi was hit in the back, after he was leaving the work offices.

For a country that accedes to join the European Union institutionally, the attack on free speech is unacceptable and damages Albania's image.

The Democratic Party condemns this attack on free speech and urges, encourages and supports the State Police and the Procuracy to bring the perpetrators of this serious act to justice as soon as possible.

Such events are another indicator of the deterioration of media freedom in Albania, especially in recent years.
