"I fought with all democratic means", Azgan Haklaj: Here's how Ilir Meta put me in prison in 2000, without evidence!

Azgan Haklaj, invited to Roland Qafoku's Dekalog show on DritareTV, told how Ilir Meta arrested him in 2000, because he accused him of organizing the attack on the police station, court and prosecutor's office in Tropoja, on September 26 of this year.

" I have fought for democracy with all democratic means. As an MP, I came out of Ilir Meta's political prison. One of the sides of the Bermuda Triangle, Sali Berisha's partner, ordered the political prosecution to imprison me, when the court ordered the case to be dismissed. Why did he arrest me? On September 26, 2000, Meta came to Tropoja, I was the chairman of the DP in this city. I did everything possible to prevent clashes. Meanwhile, Meta gave the order for me to be arrested. Berisha himself has accused him: "The terrorist Ilir Meta gave the order to shoot at peaceful high school demonstrators in Tropoja." A democrat was killed and dozens of high school students were injured. The police station, the prosecutor's office, and the court were attacked, and I was arrested without evidence, as the organizer. But I have nothing to do with the attack. I made an effort to avoid the attack. He accused me since I was the Chairman of the Tropoja PD ," Haklaj said.
