Alesia Balliu is the Democrat who has announced her candidacy for the position of leader of the Democratic Party in the upcoming elections in this party. She says that she is entering this race not with the intention of replacing Berisha at the head of the party, but to send a message to all Democrats, mainly young people, that the DP needs a competition and that this party urgently needs to be democratized.
Alesia Balliu talks about her involvement in the DP from a very young age, her disappointments with the party's leadership, and especially the support she and her family gave to Berisha's platform, as well as the great disappointment that came when Berisha took over the party's leadership again. She is convinced that Berisha has bunkered down the party to use it for his own power interests and his family's economic interests.
Balliu says that Berisha is, without a doubt, the most vulnerable element of Edi Rama, through whom the latter guarantees the continuity of power. She speaks of agreements and the continuous enrichment of Berisha's family, but also of Berisha's "40 employees", the deputies of this party who blindly obey the president, even though he does not promise or aspire to return the DP to power.
Biological age, she says, is, among other things, a very important factor that does not enable the party to be led in the right way to win elections. Alesia Balliu talks about Nënin Basha and the "shamelessness" of the DP leadership elite in questioning the removal of this article, which provides for the removal of the chairman when he loses the elections.
For Alesia Balliu, if the DP continues on this path with this leadership elite, the next DP elections will be even smaller, enough to serve only one individual and his family.
