A tragic event has shocked the football world, where Kars Spor player, 21-year-old Kubilay Kaan Kundakçı, was killed in an armed attack in Istanbul.
According to reports, the incident occurred on March 19 in the Ümraniye neighborhood, where rapper Vahap Canbay and his friends, including Kubilay Kundakçı, were waiting in a vehicle near singer Aleyna Kalaycıoğlu's studio.
Vahap Canbay had been in a relationship with singer Aleyna Kalaycıoğlu and after the breakup, he asked his friend Kubilay Kundakçı to mediate to bring them closer together again.
At that moment, unidentified individuals arrived in luxury vehicles and opened fire on the group. Kundakçı was seriously injured and, despite medical intervention, died in hospital.
Police have identified a suspect with the initials AK, who is wanted and suspected of attempting to escape. Meanwhile, Aleyna Kalaycıoğlu has been taken into custody as part of the investigation.
The victim's father, Cemil Kundakçı, stated that his son was involved in this tragic event while trying to reconcile rapper Canbay with his ex-partner.
" My son died while trying to do a good deed between two people, " he said, demanding that the perpetrators be caught and face justice.
Investigations into the serious incident continue, as Turkish authorities are working to fully clarify the motives and circumstances of the attack.
