Over 100 arrested in Abu Dhabi for misleading videos of war in the Middle East,

More than 100 people have been arrested in Abu Dhabi for posting misleading videos about Iran's attacks on the United Arab Emirates, following escalation in the Middle East.

At the same time, authorities in the United Arab Emirates are increasing censorship, while those accused face severe consequences for spreading fake news.

According to the 'WSJ', Abu Dhabi police announced that 109 people were arrested for posting photos and videos that misinformed the public during the war in the Middle East.

The arrested, of various nationalities, are accused of circulating false information via social media, including rumors and misleading publications that could cause concern to the public.

Abu Dhabi authorities warned that such actions could incite public opinion and spread rumors among citizens. The UAE's attorney general has ordered the arrest of 35 people who published misleading information or videos about Iran and its military leadership.

Among those arrested is a European tourist who was arrested in Dubai for posting a photo of the Fairmont The Palm hotel burning after an Iranian drone attack. The arrest, which took place on March 9, has raised concerns as the tourist is being held without access to a lawyer or his embassy and is reportedly sleeping on the floor and eating only rice.

The incident adds to a string of arrests and charges for spreading false information, with a 60-year-old Briton accused of spreading rumors on social media about the recent rocket attacks.

The defendant said he deleted the video from his phone as soon as he was asked, stressing that he had no intention of causing any harm.

The United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain and Kuwait have taken similar measures during the war crisis, with authorities criticizing the spread of fake news about Iran's attacks on strategic points in the region.

The war between the US, Israel and Iran has caused serious consequences for oil and food markets around the world, with Gulf countries at the center of the attacks.

International reactions and diplomatic concerns about the escalation of the war are now more intense, with the United Arab Emirates and other Gulf countries increasing security measures to avoid unrest in the region.
