The political leader of the Euro-Atlantic Coalition, Lulzim Basha, held a meeting with young people in Elbasan, together with candidates Endri Hasa and Mirela Karabina, Aldi Lekaj, Naim Meta and Desard Muzhaqi.
In his speech, Basha emphasized the importance of information technology in the economic development and future of the country.
He emphasized the lack of investment from the current government in this field, stating that Albanian faculties for this branch still teach with chalk and blackboard.
Basha said that Albania is missing a great opportunity due to not investing in technology, while he said that the prime minister only uses it for rhetoric where it hurts and says he will fight corruption with artificial intelligence.
In this context, he presented one of the main commitments of the Euro-Atlantic Coalition program, such as the construction of four large centers of information technology, artificial intelligence and robotics in the main axes of the country, with the aim of having 25 thousand professionals in this field at the end of four years with salaries starting from 2 thousand euros.
Basha said that this is a strategic investment for the future of the country, which will not only bring high incomes, but will also strengthen the middle class and democracy in Albania.

What is coming is the greatest transformation in 2,000 years of lifestyle, human capabilities, the dynamics of everyday life. A large part of the processes that are carried out by people today will be taken over by technology. The race that is taking place in the world is who will control and undermine this. The essence of the conflict that is taking place between the Western world and the rest, between the USA and China and everything else that is played out on the periphery of this, is for the dominance of information technology.
The advantage of this situation for us is that this market is insatiable for experts and professionals in the field of information technology. Today, as we speak, there are over 10 thousand young people who have left in the last 5-6 years and have been employed in Western Europe in this sector. Today, as we speak, the demand in Western Europe alone for professionals in this sector increases by 90 thousand every 3 months. Salaries in Western Europe for professionals in this field start from 6 thousand euros per month. Salaries in Albania for the entry level start from 2 thousand euros per month.
They go up to 8 thousand, 10 thousand, 12 thousand if you rise to the managerial level. But we cannot reap this advantage, because the few computer science faculties that we have still teach 90% of the teaching with chalk and blackboards. Because there has been no investment in this field. The main role of the government is to predict and invest to move forward with the predictions of the future. Only the Tirana government does not deal with this work, it talks but does nothing. They have spent 7.2 billion euros for years, how much have they spent on information technology?
He speaks where it hurts, he says he will fight corruption with artificial intelligence. Tenders will be made by artificial intelligence, as if the problem of corruption was human intelligence. The problem of corruption is theft. And it is that theft that has not allowed it to invest. That this is something that the government should invest in, the government should start the engines so that the private sector can then collect it.
What do I mean? Our main financial commitment in our program for the next four years is the establishment of four large centers of Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence and Robotics in the Tirana-Durres, Elbasan-Korce, Shkodër-Lezhe and Vlora-Fier axes. The objective at the end of the four years is to produce 25 thousand professionals trained by the best in Europe, America and Britain, some of whom are Albanians. Therefore, with such an investment, which is not cheap, it is a big investment, we achieve several objectives at the same time: we introduce 25 thousand young men and women into this market that today is almost non-existent in Albania. We are sending a signal to Europe, America, and the Western world that you can come and invest here because we have both youth and a government that has the vision and will to invest in this field, to bring in very high incomes through information technology, and to create the basis for a middle class that is a guarantee for both democracy and well-being.
So the first and foremost thing is that in this country, in Elbasan and everywhere in Albania, if you have a vision and if you have the will to implement this vision, Albania is open to overcoming this huge gap.
Even if you put it side by side with other countries that are following these developments. Of course, if you have your mind on your friends at 7x7-313, taking the money there, if you have your mind on recycling Ilir Meta, Elvis Roshi, you can't even understand what the youth wants, let alone implement such programs. We are in the 4 for only one reason, to do everything to serve this country.
