Mazniku: The number of businesses in the economic zone in Elbasan is expected to double

The Minister of State for Local Government, and also the political leader of the Socialist Party for the Elbasan region, Arbjan Mazniku, stated today that strategic investments in Elbasan are an opportunity that will turn this city into a center of economic development.

In a conversation with the business community for "Fiscal Peace", where Prime Minister Edi Rama and Economy Minister Petrit Malaj were also present, Mazniku said that the economic zone in Elbasan, where the state is a partner, has about 11 companies present that employ about 200 people and remains a model of successful cooperation between the state and the private sector, creating opportunities for foreign investment, but also employment.

"The Elbasan region is going through a very important moment as a result of several important investments that are in process, the Lekaj-Elbasan road, the Elbasan bypass, the road from Krasta to Qafë Thanë, as well as the railway project that enable Elbasan to return to the center of economic development where many companies come and invest here," he said.

According to Maznik, the Metallurgical area has an extraordinary potential to multiply the amount of production, while in a period of 5-6 years the amount of business that develops in the Economic and Metallurgical area is expected to double, bringing extraordinary potential.

"If Elbasan contributes 7% of the country's GDP, 5% of the entire volume is produced in the Metalurgjikut Economic Zone, and with the potential to double the economy that develops in the Metalurgjikut area, the impact not only on Elbasan, but on employment and economic turnover throughout the country is very large," Mazniku asserted.
