22% of votes arrive, CEC head: Over 42 thousand ballots have arrived in Tirana

Voting by mail for Albanians living abroad has entered a crucial phase, as the deadline for submitting ballots is May 11, 2025, 7:00 PM.
So far, over 193 thousand envelopes have been distributed by the Central Election Commission.
According to Chief Commissioner Ilirjan Celibashi, about 22% of them have been returned, which translates to approximately 42,600 ballots received.
The head of the CEC has appealed for the highest possible turnout and has reminded the legal deadlines for immigrants. Any vote that arrives after May 11, 19:00, will be declared invalid.
Votes received from the diaspora will be administered and counted at the "Feti Borova" Sports Palace, near the Olympic Park in Tirana.
The CEC has continuously notified voters abroad, especially those from Greece, via e-mail and phone messages, to check the delivery status of the voting envelope sent by post. In case voters are not at home at the time of delivery, the envelope will be delivered to the nearest postal point.
To facilitate this process, some post offices will operate extended hours and will also provide service during the weekend.
