Voting in Kukës is closed, the counting of the boxes is expected to start

The citizens of Kukës voted this Sunday, in the early local elections, for the new mayor.

The voting process was closed at 19:00, after about 50 percent of voters voted. Fewer citizens exercised their right to vote, compared to the elections of May 14, where the socialist Safet Gjici won, whose mandate was short-lived due to the sexual scandal in which he was involved.

Now, the election materials are being closed and then the counting process is expected to start.

The candidate of the Socialist Party, Albert Halilaj, and the candidate of the "Bashkë Fitomje" coalition, Emri Vata, are in the race to take over the leadership of the municipality of Kukes. Even in these elections, the Democratic Party chose not to come up with a candidate.
