The Political Leader of the Euro-Atlantic Coalition, Lulzim Basha, accompanied by the candidate for MP, Taulanda Jupi, held a meeting with pensioners in the Lapraka area of Tirana, where their concerns and the program were discussed.
During his speech, Basha emphasized that on May 11, citizens, especially pensioners, will face an important choice; to continue for another four years with Edi Rama's government, or to vote to improve their living conditions and those of their families.
"On May 11, the essence of the choice that citizens and especially pensioners will make will be, or we will continue for another four years with Edi Rama and his friends at 7x7=313 and his dancing friends with belts of 2 thousand euros each. Or you will vote for yourself, for your pocket and that of your families and children. Because normally most of you manage because of the help that your children and families give you. Because with these pensions, no one can manage. This is the essence of the choice that you will make on May 11" - he said.
Basha said that the Euro-Atlantic Coalition program will bring a significant increase in pensions. According to him, within four years, the minimum pension will reach 250 thousand lek and the average pension will reach 450 thousand lek. For pensioners who have pensions below 300 thousand lek, a fixed amount will be offered to compensate for energy bills, as well as full reimbursement of medicines.
He also spoke about the Euro-Atlantic Coalition's platform for health, underlining that medicines will be fully reimbursed according to medical diagnosis, a measure that will particularly affect the elderly, who face high costs for medicines.
" Our pension program, which was the first to be announced, provides for a minimum pension of 250 thousand lek, an average pension of 450 thousand lek, within four years. For every pensioner under 300 thousand lek, a fixed amount to compensate for the monthly energy bill, as well as 100% reimbursement of medicines. Today, I know, I have a mother who takes medicines with a certain value, a value of about 100 thousand lek per month, only 6 thousand lek is reimbursed," said Basha.
Regarding the financing of these policies, Basha said that there is a considerable bill, which will reach up to an additional 560 million euros in the fourth year. According to him, in order to secure this amount, the money must not go to the corrupt and the only political force that is serious about the fight against corruption is the Euro-Atlantic Coalition, number 4.
" We solve the issue of medicines with our health platform, and this is reimbursement according to diagnosis. As with the diagnosis, 100% will be reimbursed. And this particularly affects the elderly, who normally face higher costs due to their age, higher expenses for medicines.
Is there a bill for this? Of course there is a bill. The bill is hefty, starting in the first year with 380 million euros per year in addition needed to cope with this pension increase policy. And at the end of the fourth year the bill goes up to 560 million euros in addition. How will the bill be met? Neither Edi Rama nor Sali Berisha say this. I know what they say, vote for number 5 so that we can get our friends out of prison, the other one says I will fight corruption, vote for number 1 to get Ilir Meta out of prison. But why is corruption being fought this way, by getting our friends out of prison who were caught stealing? This is how the money will come to you, there is no chance. The only political force that has publicly committed itself with deeds, not words, to fight corruption, is the Euro-Atlantic Coalition, it is number 4 " - said Basha.
