Rama called him a tourist, Chris LaCivita speaks for the first time: 12 years as

On February 10, Democratic leader Sali Berisha announced that Chris LaCivita, chairman of the Republican National Committee in the US, would be one of the leaders of the Democratic Party's election campaign in the country. The latter's arrival in Albania, and moreover in such a political position, has caused quite a few reactions.

Prime Minister Edi Rama has called him a "tourist who will spend some money in our country." This is precisely why LaCivita gave his comment in the "Opinion" studio.

"Once again. Edi Rama in these elections will talk about everything except for his 12 years of governance. He has been prime minister for 12 years and is he attacking me? I find it laughable. I am not a tourist. I come here for work," he said in front of journalist Blendi Fevziu.

He was further asked why the head of the Albanian government enjoys this support from the international community.

"I think the discussion is not and should not be about Europe. The discussion should be about Albanian voters and how they feel about their future. How can they afford basic goods so that young people do not think about leaving Albania because they cannot find jobs here. These are the issues that matter. These are the issues that Edi Rama should talk about. The best answer to this and what people need to understand is: can you trust a man who made things so unaffordable during these 12 years to fix them and move on to 2030? I don't think so. Why would you put someone in power who made things so difficult, to solve the problems that he created himself?! It makes no sense!", LaCivita replied.

Regarding Rama's relationship with President Donald Trump, he emphasized that "it will be seen in the future, as there is currently nothing concrete."
