Rama: On May 16, leaders from across our continent will gather in the heart of Tirana

Albania will host the sixth Summit of the European Political Community (EPC) in Tirana on May 16, 2025, where 47 Heads of State or Government will gather together with the heads of the main European and international institutions.

This is the first time that the EPC has held a meeting in the Western Balkans – a moment of historic importance for both Albania and the region as a whole.

Prime Minister Edi Rama has published a video on social media that begins with a speech by French President Emmanuel Macron.

"This new European organization would enable democratic European nations that adhere to our core values ​​to find a new area of ​​political cooperation, security, cooperation in energy, transport, investment, infrastructure, movement of people and especially of our young people," Macron says.

The Head of the Executive emphasizes that it is a matter of pride that leaders from across our continent of democracies come together in the heart of the Albanian capital.

"Proud of the fact that on May 16, the leaders of our entire continent of democracies, from London to Kiev and from Oslo to Ankara, will come together in the heart of Tirana for the European Political Community Summit," Rama said.

Rama also emphasizes that Albania was selected to host this important event because it is already viewed with respect and appreciation.

"On May 16, we will welcome the European Political Community Summit, where we will have in Tirana the leaders of the 700 million inhabitants of Europe beyond the borders of the EU. The reason why Albania got this opportunity is very simple. Because Albania today is a country where everyone looks with eyes of respect, and everyone has assessments that personally make me very proud, but more important in this case than pride in this case is the inspiration and motivation to continue further", Rama emphasized regarding the holding of the European Political Community Summit (EPC) in Tirana.

This Summit marks not only a symbolic recognition of the Southeast European country within the European political structure, but also a strategic investment in its role in shaping the future of the continent.
