Journalist Poli Hoxha has described as absurd the decision of Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj to participate in the court session at the Administrative Court on Friday and not in his trial at the Special Court.
Invited to "This Week" on News24 with Nisida Tufa, Hoxha said that it is typical of politicians who deal with everything except the essence of the issue.
"They deal with everything else, like Rama dealing with canals or raki museums and not with the real problems that municipalities have. Even in the case of Veliaj or politicians dealing with GJKKO or SPAK, they deal with everything else, except their own issue and why they are there."
The absurdity goes so far that Veliaj does not go to his own session, where his trial has started at the GJKKO, but goes to the Administrative. He leaves his cell and goes to a trial about how the procedure of the prosecutor who accused him was carried out. All this is in the shadow of what they are dealing with the prosecutor, with his life, with the details, and so far we have not heard anything concrete from him. He says Tirana was left with garbage and without schools, as if the prosecution is to blame for this, and does not deal with whether he is guilty or not. And the judge himself told him that he is getting out of focus on the case", he said.
