Risk of energy crisis, DP requests interpellation in Parliament with the Minister of Energy

The Democratic Party Parliamentary Group has filed a request in the Assembly for an urgent interpellation with the Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Enea Karakaçi, raising concerns about the risk of a possible energy crisis in the country due to the situation in the Middle East.
The request emphasizes the need for transparency regarding the measures that have been taken so far to guarantee a stable supply of electricity, as well as to ensure the necessary fuel reserves.
According to the request initiated by Eno Bozdo, the current situation requires immediate clarification from the government, especially in the context of uncertainties in international energy markets and their impact on the domestic economy.
"Albania faces major tasks in preparing for an energy crisis which would require major state commitment, especially concrete measures by the Ministry of Energy on the issue of guaranteeing fuel supply, proper management of the Security Reserve and institutional coordination with the EU and the IEA," the DP's request states, among other things.
Honorable Mr. Speaker of the Assembly,
Given the international situation caused by the war in Iran, a situation which has influenced the rapid increase in energy prices, especially oil and its derivatives;
Given that the International Energy Agency (IEA) has instructed EU countries to prepare for the release of oil from Security Reserves to the market;
Given that the Commissioner for Energy, Mr. Dan Jorgensen, has asked the European Union member states to prepare for possible disruptions in energy supply, through a letter addressed to energy ministers;
Given the fact that the Prime Minister has spoken about a new model for maintaining the Energy Security Reserve as well as the establishment of a state-owned company that will enter the oil and its derivatives trading market;
Given the fact that the situation is changing very rapidly and we have entered a real emergency in dealing with this crisis;
In light of the above, Albania faces major tasks in preparing for an energy crisis which would require major state commitment, and in particular concrete measures by the Ministry of Energy on the issue of guaranteeing fuel supply, proper management of the Security Reserve, and institutional coordination with the EU and the IEA.
Therefore, considering the above, in my capacity as a member of the Assembly of Albania, based on Article 80, point 1 of the Constitution and Article 96, points 1 and 2 of the Rules of Procedure of the Assembly, I request the development of an urgent interpellation with the Minister of Energy and Transport, to provide explanations and information regarding the above.
