Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha was injured this evening. As a result of tear gas fired in the area, the opposition leader did not feel well and was seen with marks on his face.
Following the incident, Democratic Party MPs Flamur Noka, Xhelal Mziu and Luçiano Boçi, along with other supporters, were involved in clashes with police officers.
The officers asked the protesters to leave the area, but the situation escalated further, and there were also verbal clashes with the officers. The deputies described the officers as "soldiers" and "mercenaries", accusing them of the deliberate use of violence.
It was Flamur Noka who addressed him, telling him that they had been ordered to shoot former Prime Minister Sali Berisha.
"You have received orders to attack the opposition leader! You will pay dearly! You are not servants of the law, you are mercenaries of organized crime! Remove the police, get them out of here!", he is reported to have said.
