The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has presented his program, stating that he will bring Albania out of the depths of extreme poverty.
Berisha promised that pensions would increase, energy prices for businesses would decrease, as well as oil prices.
Sali Berisha: The program of Great Albania at first glance seems like an exaggerated program, like an exaggerated epithet, but it is very real. There has never been anything more magnificent than establishing pluralism in Albania, in the place of extreme monism.
There has been no greater feat than to lift Albania from the depths of extreme poverty to the group of upper-middle-income countries. There has been no greater feat than to bring Albania, the most insecure country, into the most powerful political and military alliance, the North Atlantic Alliance.
There has been no greater act than Albania, which in 2055 had 4.5 percent internet usage and increasing it 14-fold within a period of 7-8 years. This too is a great act. Doubling salaries and pensions, this too is a great act.
Where do we base this talk about a Great Albania? We base it because we have achieved many great moments. But they still did not create what we say, a Great Albania. No, a Great Albania will be an Albania that will not know extreme poverty. We have found its key. What is the key? We will return the money to the Albanians.
The money collected from their income, a good part of it will go to salaries and pensions. We do not tell pensioners that we will not put money in your fund because Albania will collapse. Albania will collapse if you leave them in a miserable state. So we will set the living wage.
There will be no Albanian who will receive less than 200 euros. Pensions will increase. The minimum wage will be 500 euros. The average wage will be 1200 euros. The maximum wage will not be affected because the difference between the average wage and the maximum wage is deeper than in any other country that I know of on the planet. Because that's how they do it in their mindset.
But again, this is not Great Albania. This is Albania beyond pain. Great Albania is Made in Albania. Will we make Albania a hotel or a country that produces goods everywhere for its citizens, that will return fabulous wealth to its citizens?
Albania has world-class resources in its underground reserves. It has some of the most fertile land that can be made. It is a country with more water than any other country in the region.
They destroyed Albania's production. They destroyed it by setting standards that do not exist anywhere in trade. They destroyed its production with narcoeuro. Every week, export enterprises are closed due to the 35 percent drop in the value of the euro. And what euro is it? It is narcoeuro! Imagine, from 2023-2024, exports fell by 32 percent.
Thousands and thousands of Albanians lost their jobs and were forced to leave the country. Is it possible to protect them? Absolutely. The government protects the exchange rate, compensates for the exchange rate that drugs lowered against the euro, and compensates exporters for the amount the euro has fallen, and hundreds of jobs are not lost and production is not blocked.
So, Made in Albania will be national pride. It will be the main generator of your employment. It will be the place of your success. Your startups will be supported in every way for their success. Albania will be the country with the lowest taxes in Europe. Albania will have the lowest energy price and will become a regional energy superpower.
Albania has extraordinary potential for energy production from the sun, water, wind and gas. All of these are potentials that have been blocked until today due to corruption, arbitrariness, and the lack of a justice system.
We will return strongly so that Albanian citizens can buy energy as cheaply as possible. Energy for businesses will be reduced, it will go down from 24 lek to 6 lek. Energy for citizens will be reduced, it will go down to 7 lek. Oil will be reduced. What does a pensioner need oil for, Edi Rama said to a lady who nailed him on 'Opinion'. Why doesn't a pensioner travel by bus? Or should he stay at home? So, we have a program with which you can knock on every door, on every heart, on every mind.
Is this just a program? No. Albania will become the epicenter of high technology in the region and beyond. It will become the epicenter of artificial intelligence, cryptocurrencies, data centers. So, this will be the Great Albania, fully feasible. But these are all words on the screen.
These words must be carried to every door. These words must be carried to every citizen. And I tell you one thing, there are no more convincing, more popular, more reliable messengers than you, the young people. So, this campaign is in your hands. You are its messengers, we win. You will become its true face, we win. You will become its humanity, we win.
