"The main, traditional pillars of the right", Pampuri: The transition must end

The Euro-Atlantic Coalition's candidate for MP, Oriola Pampuri, has once again brought to mind the political ideals on which the right is built.

As a candidate for MP of the Euro-Atlantic Coalition, Pampuri shows that she represents the ideals of freedom, dignity and justice, strongly committed to the cause of former political persecuted and landowners.

The main, traditional pillars of the right have been and are the persecuted and the owners.

These two groups are symbolically and realistically the strongest moral and social foundation on which the right had to be built.
1. Former political persecuted:
• Former prisoners, internees, and their families, who suffered the repression of the communist dictatorship;
• Demand justice for the crimes of communism, moral rehabilitation, and compensation for suffering.
• Consider the right as representing the ideals of freedom, human dignity, and anti-communism.
2. Their owners and heirs:

• They are interested in the return or compensation of their properties and see the right as supporting private property rights.

These layers give the Albanian right a strong anti-communist, pro-Western (especially pro-US and EU) and conservative character in values.

Meanwhile, in Albania, the former persecuted were forgotten, they did not feel represented, as former prosecutors, former officials of the communist regime were never convicted, and even treated the class of the former persecuted with high positions that were untouchable at any moment. The owners did not get their properties back, and even with a special law, more anarchy was created with them.

Was this democracy? In 34 years we saw children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren of former officials in the communist regime being rewarded, owners are still wandering through the courts for their fundamental right; property. Without property going to the true owners, there is no integration into the EU.

The transition must end, and with it impunity, only then will the doors to the European Union open for us.
