"The system favors the two big parties"/ Dedaj: DP MPs dare not tell

Journalist and analyst Reldar Dedaj, invited to the News24 studio , commented on recent developments in the country's political scene, raising concerns about the functioning of the system and the role of political parties.

According to Dedaj, the current electoral and political system centers on the two main parties, making it almost impossible for new political alternatives to penetrate, regardless of the ideas or programs they may offer.

"This system has placed two parties at the center. It does not allow for new political alternatives that, no matter how interesting they may be, are unable to penetrate the masses and translate votes into mandates," he said.

The analyst warned that if the major parties begin to unite in positions or actions, a perception of a "dark scenario" is created, which according to him could lead to citizens withdrawing from public life or increasing the desire to emigrate.

"This creates a lack of hope and this is deadly for society," Dedaj stressed.

Focusing on the opposition, he said that it must have a clear interest in coming to power. According to him, the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, sees a will to strengthen the party, but added that the main problems lie within the parliamentary group.

"Some of the MPs do not have the courage to tell the party leader their opinion and fail to be critical voices in society," he said, describing them as powerless to be attractive to the public.

On the other hand, Dedaj also criticized the majority, emphasizing that it continues to face successive scandals, which according to him are not causing the appropriate reaction in society.

"These scandals are not creating irritation in society, and this is the scariest thing, because it shows that citizens feel they have lost perspective," he concluded.

According to him, the inability of some MPs to articulate or even recognize the real problems of citizens remains one of the main challenges of the opposition in the country.
