EMRI/ Football in mourning, famous coach passes away

Football in Poland is in mourning after the passing of coach Jacek Magiera. The bitter news came today for the 49-year-old, who had been Poland's assistant coach since July of last year.

Magiera won two league titles, four cups and one Super Cup as a player with Legia Warsaw. The former midfielder scored 25 goals in the Polish championship.

As a coach, he contributed to several Polish teams. He recently decided to engage with Jan Urban on the Polish national team.

Magiera was on the bench as part of the Polish staff in March, as Albania played the historic away match. Poland's elimination came at the end of March against Sweden.
