Tsipras responds to Prime Minister Rama: Don't give me lectures on nationalism

Former Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras has reacted to Prime Minister Edi Rama's comments regarding the stance of the new ELAS party on the incidents reported in the Vlora area.
In a public message, Tsipras expressed surprise at the accusations of nationalist rhetoric, recalling that throughout his political career he has supported regional cooperation, dialogue and good relations between Balkan countries.
He said that his commitment to peace and important agreements like the Prespa one do not give anyone reason to lecture him on nationalism or progressive values.
According to Tsipras, protecting the rights of national minorities, including the Greek National Minority in Albania, should not be considered a nationalist stance.
He added that respect for the rule of law and the legal rights of citizens must remain an unchanging principle for every political force.
The former Greek Prime Minister also recalled that for years he has discussed with Rama the issue of property rights in Albania, arguing that guaranteeing them for all citizens would help the country's European path.
At the end of the reaction, Tsipras maintained a more conciliatory tone, wishing the Albanian Prime Minister success and expressing the desire for continued cooperation in the future for the European integration of the Western Balkans and the strengthening of relations between Albania and Greece.
