UBT agreement with BOKU University of Vienna, Rama: We have invested about 16 million euros, destination for students of the region with European standards

The modernization process of the Agricultural University of Tirana begins, with the performance agreement signed today with the BOKU University of Vienna.

Three years ago you had a difficult situation with the recruitment of students and the rector also with a proposal, which was a joint proposal of yours to the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Agriculture, to lower the average entrance to the Agricultural University. I was against this idea because it didn't make sense to me that the students were showing less interest, to lower the average.

I told the rector that we should aim and make the Agricultural University attractive and make it a destination for the students of the region, by internationalizing with a university of excellence in the region. A university that gets you what you would get at a university in Vienna.

The rector didn't believe me because the party didn't allow him either, but we got together. 7 million euros for the farm, 3 million for the earthquake, 2 million for the building. About 16 million euros given to the Agricultural University, not counting the dormitories. It is not a government program to keep a democratic rector in check, it is a program to transform an excellence university with regional influence.
