Diaspora vote, CEC head Celibashi: Around 22% of ballots have been returned to

The voting process for Albanians living abroad is underway, while as of 4:20 p.m. today, 193,823 envelopes have been registered received from diaspora voters who have applied to vote in the May 11 parliamentary elections.

According to Chief Commissioner Ilirjan Celibashi, “around 22% of the envelopes sent have already been returned to the Central Election Commission (CEC).” Specifically, this is about 55,761 envelopes that have arrived.

Voters outside Albania can complete and mail in their ballots until the first week of May. Any vote received after 7:00 PM on May 11 will be declared invalid.

The administration and counting of diaspora votes is being carried out at the "Feti Borova" Sports Palace, near the Olympic Park in Tirana, where ballots for voters abroad have also been prepared.
