How to cook Bulgur

Bulgur is one of the most nutritious and healthy cereals for the human body.
It is widely used not only in Turkey but also in many countries of the Middle East.
Buckwheat is a form of whole wheat that cooks very quickly.
For the production of bulgur, wheat undergoes a unique process of cleaning, pre-cooking, drying and grinding.
This grain combines very well with:
Red tomatoes
Onions
Green peppers Spices
Meat
In
Turkey, bulgur is served alongside meat dishes such as meatballs or meat dishes.
Bulgur With Onion, Pepper and Tomato
To prepare this recipe you need:
1 large-grain buckwheat tea cup
1 medium onion finely chopped
1 green pepper cut into small pieces
1 medium tomato cut into pieces
2 cups of chicken or beef broth
1 tablespoon of butter
One and a half tablespoons of thick tomato sauce
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
1 teaspoon of salt.
Preparation:
Put a pot on the fire and pour the olive oil.
Sauté the onion and green pepper for a few minutes until softened.
Add the tomatoes, butter and tomato sauce and then the salt.
Mix well and then add the warm chicken or beef stock.
Mix well and let it take a full boil.
When this happens, lower the heat and cover the pot with a lid.
Let the bulgur simmer for 15 to 20 minutes or until it is soft and does not crackle in your mouth.
Remove the pot from the heat and let it cool slightly.
Bulgur is served warm and is an excellent accompaniment to grilled meat, chicken or any other meat dish.
