Naomi Campbell 'excluded' from Met Gala after clash with Anna Wintour

After more than two decades of walking the fashion world's most famous carpet, Naomi Campbell will not be attending this year's Met Gala. The 54-year-old supermodel has reportedly been left off the guest list, and the reason is thought to be an incident with Anna Wintour, the industry's most powerful figure.
It all started last September, during the “Harlem's Fashion Row” event at New York Fashion Week, where Naomi arrived late, while Anna – known for her iron discipline – could not wait any longer and left. Her ironic comment to the audience: “ I am very punctual and I have the honor of introducing someone who is often late, ” apparently did not go down well with Campbell.
But Naomi's response on stage further inflamed tensions. "It wasn't my choice to have the other lady, I would have much preferred this," she said, referring to Anna's absence and replacement with Harper's Bazaar editor Samira Nasr. Sources told The Sun that after this statement, her exclusion from the Met Gala was inevitable: "You don't sting Anna and expect to walk her carpet."
Naomi herself, in a recent YouTube video, admitted that she will not be part of the event this year, but chose to be reserved in her words: "It's the last one for me. I'm too old. The anxiety is too much for me. I don't know what number this is - 20 or 21? Can you imagine?"
Instead of the red carpet, the supermodel is enjoying a getaway to the Maldives with her two children.
