Sejfulla Myftari confesses: How the name "Cekja i Berati" stuck with me

The legendary Albanian comedy actor, Sejfulla Myftari, known as "Cekja i Berati" has given an interview to "ABC e Mêngjesit", where he talked about his entire career in cinematography. He singled out his role that made him famous in the material "Alo Ushnja", which according to him made him very loved by the public for the first time, as he was stopped on the street.

"I felt the most excited when I made the material 'Alo Ushnja' that was recognized by all of Albania, which appeared at 9:20 in 1982. I remember it like now. There I felt the greatest satisfaction that I was recognized by the public. It was my most surprising moment in public, that when I went out on the street the next day, people didn't stop when they said 'Alo Ushnja', now it has been replaced by the joke 'Yp Xhixhi'", said the actor.

Furthermore, he also told how he got the nickname Cekja from his grandmother when he was little.

"I don't even know myself. I came to my origin Skrapar, because I am originally Skrapal, both with mother and father. Grandma took the kids out to feed them and called them Kec Kec Kec and I stayed with the kids, also Kec Kec Kec, Cek Cek Cek and that's how Ceke was left to me. In addition to my first name, they also changed my last name to "Cekja i Berati", the Skrapalians liked it, so much so that in an interview I said I am from Skrapari, not Berat" , said the actor.

As for his career, Cekja singled out the movie 'A very great father', as it is a real event.

" In my career, I would single out the film 'A Very Father', it is tragic-comic. I have achieved all the films artistically, like those scenarios with Arjan Çuliq. Yes, 'A great father' is really complete, it is a real Albanian event", he emphasized.
