Belgian actress Emily Decken dies at 43

Actress Emilie Decen died yesterday, Sunday, at the age of 43, at the Gustave Roussy hospital, on the outskirts of Paris, due to complications from a rare cancer, her family and her artistic agent Danielle Gen announced to Agence France-Presse.
She had discovered in October 2023 that she was suffering from endocrine cancer, which had been diagnosed two months earlier and had since been forced to stay away from filming and the theater stage.
"What a tough fight!" And we don't choose this," the Belgian actress wrote via Instagram on February 4 on World Cancer Day.
In December, she told TF1 that she was battling an increasingly aggressive disease, which meant she “wouldn’t live as long as predicted.” She was facing a relapse of the disease after a period of stabilization.
Her cancer was a malignant tumor in the adrenal gland – the prognosis is worse the larger the tumor.
Born on August 29, 1981, Emilie Decen was discovered by the public at only 18 years old, starring in the Dardenne brothers' film "Rosetta", which earned her the award for best actress at the 1999 Cannes Film Festival.
