He killed his cousin/The rapper of the hit "Watch Me" is sentenced to 30 years in prison

American rapper from Atlanta, Silentó, known for the hit "Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)", has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for the murder of his cousin in 2021.
Ricky Lamar Hawk, the real name of the 27-year-old artist, pleaded guilty to intentional homicide by reason of mental illness, as well as other charges such as aggravated assault, weapons possession and concealment of the death of a person.
The incident occurred in January 2021 in Panthersville, Georgia, where police found the body of his cousin, Frederick Rooks III, with multiple gunshot wounds. A white BMW, which the rapper had previously been seen driving with the victim, was caught on security cameras speeding away from the scene.
Before this case, Silentó had faced other allegations of violence, including an incident in 2020 where he was accused of attacking two people with an axe in Los Angeles.
The rapper has spoken openly about his struggles with mental health, admitting that fame has added to his pressure and inner suffering.
"I've been battling demons my whole life," he said earlier. "Depression doesn't leave you when you become famous."
