767 thousand pensioners benefit from the increase in indexation by 8.6%, ISSH starts distribution

The Institute of Social Insurance started this Monday the distribution of indexed pensions at the rate of 8.6%.

In total, there are 767,000 pensioners across the country who will benefit from this government decision, which includes all categories. The distribution of pensions to all beneficiary individuals, according to the social security institute, will be done in cooperation with the Albanian Post and commercial banks.

The increase to the extent of 8.6% came as a protective measure for this category in the face of successive shocks caused by inflation in the country. According to the Ministry of Finance and Economy, this indexation covers all price changes for the period August 2022 - August 2023.

This also referred to the measurements made by INSTAT. With these changes, the average pension goes to 18,794 ALL per month from 17,306 ALL.

Meanwhile, 15.3 billion ALL more are expected to be spent from the budget for social policy until next year. But in addition to indexation of pensions, all pensioners will also receive a bonus of 5,000 ALL at the end of the year.
