Fergese competition Tirana-Elbasan/ The festival promotes the cuisine of central Albania

Already organized in the form of a competition between the two cities, the "Fërgesa Festival" has brought together citizens of Elbasan, Tirana, but also many tourists to enjoy the traditional cooking of central Albania.
The aim of this organization is to pass on the wonderful values of Albanian cuisine from generation to generation.
"Actually, it is tradition and heritage, the most important things of a country, a nation, a state, and cuisine is equally important. All the values of the country must be promoted and the generations must be educated," said Mirela Koçollari, Tirana Municipality.
"This element of cooking is part of the hospitality and the generous table, which is an element that not only Central Albania has, but the entire Albanian nation" - said Xhani Shqerra, Elbasan Municipality
The ladies of Tirana and Elbasan brought to the center of the city the taste that no one can resist, amidst the pride that traditions are being passed down through the generations.
Sausage with liver, cottage cheese or variety of cooking? The founder of this holiday, Dhurata Thanasi, says that once upon a time, the cooking variant came according to the economic situation, but it is important to cook with local products, which Tirana and Elbasan have the most.
The traditional table was laid at the Welcome Gate of the Castle of Elbasan, where the key word was the fargeza, but without missing a little brandy, while the folklore groups of Elbasan and Tirana gave a fantastic atmosphere to those present.
