Counting of citizens and housing starts - Cost 5.7 euros per inhabitant, 6 intensive weeks in every corner of the country

This is the 12th census in our country, after the one undertaken in 2011. And with the generation of data, the central and local government will have the opportunity to undertake concrete and better oriented policies.
INSTAT calculates that the total cost of the Census is 16.8 million euros, where the cost per inhabitant is close to the average of European countries. Specifically, an average of 5.7 Euro will be spent per inhabitant.
Over 50% of costs go to field staff. But regardless of the cost, the success of this process is closely related to the awareness of citizens to be active in participation.
After the development of the census, there will be a second survey using statistical models recommended by international organizations, after the enumeration in the field that calculates the level of reliability and quality of the data. The local government has an important role in this process to provide its support and facilitate the work.
