Gender equality in sports/ Tirana signs an agreement with the UN agency

The largest organizations in the world have been lobbying for years to strengthen the role of women in many fields, and one of them is the "UN Womens" agency, the United Nations agency for gender equality and women's empowerment.

Through their Women's Empowerment Principles program, this organization invites various associations and businesses to become part of it by signing the 7 main principles. The first Albanian sports club to do such a thing is the team of Tirana, which through the director Goldi Halili tells more about its difficulties in the beginnings it had in the environment of Albanian football and until this day that they have arrived today.

Meanwhile, in his speech, Miklele Ribota, the representative of UN Women, emphasized once again the two main messages before signing the agreement.

"There are two issues I want to emphasize before signing this agreement. First, I want to congratulate the Tirana club that has already started with a girls' team. Through this initiative you give the right message to girls and women that anyone can play the game they want and choose. Things that seemed impossible yesterday, but there are no sports or games that women cannot play. Meanwhile, the second issue is related to men who are already clear that they are examples of what they are on and off the field with their behavior and this is a great responsibility, so I would ask you to use this exposure that you have to showing what it means to be a proper man in this day and age."

Club Tirana is the third team in the world part of this initiative and this United Nations program, together with two other teams from the Turkish championship
