The Red and Black National Team will play in two friendlies in September and October.

After the official matches within the framework of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, the Albanian National Team is expected to play two friendly matches in the coming months - one in September, before the match against Latvia, and another in October, immediately after the important challenge against Serbia.
Sources close to the Albanian Football Association (AFH) inform the newspaper that these two friendlies are in the negotiation phase, while the “Air Albania” Stadium in Tirana is seen as a possible destination for both matches. Given that the elite European national teams will be engaged in official competitions during that period, the rivals selected for these friendlies are expected to be teams with a more modest profile, which are ready to play matches without much competitive load.
The purpose of these two friendly matches is twofold: on the one hand to test the form and alternatives in the team, and on the other hand to maintain the rhythm of the competition in a period where minutes and group cohesion are essential for coach Silvinjo. Meanwhile, the Albanian National Team is still in the running for a place in the 2026 World Cup, and every match, whether official or friendly, is considered an opportunity to build the spirit of the group and restore self-confidence, especially after the disappointing draw against Latvia. The names of the opponents are expected to be made public in the coming weeks, once negotiations between the AFF and the respective federations are concluded.
Meanwhile, in September, Albania will play the fifth match in the qualifying group against Latvia at home, then travel to Serbia in October. Meanwhile, the last two meetings are with Andorra away and England in Tirana, challenges that will take place in November.
