Sensational! PSG star on trial for rape, risks up to 15 years in prison
Paris Saint-Germain defender and Morocco international Achraf Hakimi could face legal action following rape allegations, according to French daily Le Parisien.
The Nanterre prosecutor's office filed a request for indictment on August 1, 2025, to bring the case before the Hauts-de-Seine criminal court.
The alleged incident took place in February 2023, at Hakim's home in Boulogne-Billancourt near Paris. He has always categorically denied the accusation.
According to Le Parisien, the alleged victim, 26, had been communicating with the footballer via Instagram for more than a month before visiting him at his apartment. She claims that Hakimi kissed and touched her without her consent and then forced himself on her. Initially, she did not file a formal complaint, but later handed over messages to investigators describing the trauma she had experienced.
Hakimi was placed under official investigation on March 3, 2023 and was questioned, spending a few hours in custody. He has denied everything, claiming that it is an attempt at financial blackmail.
Paris Saint-Germain has continued to stand by the player, stressing their confidence in the judicial process.
The club stated that his absences from training were for "personal reasons."
In December 2023, Hakimi and the plaintiff faced off in court, where each stood by their version of events.
Then, in January 2025, Hakimi told a blogger: "The truth is that when you are successful, you become an easy target for some people. They wanted to blackmail me, that's why we filed a complaint. Justice has acted well so far."
The case is currently in the hands of the investigating judge, who will decide whether or not to prosecute. If found guilty, Hakimi faces a sentence of up to 15 years in prison.
