The ball hit him in the throat, the footballer ends the season after a serious fracture in the larynx

A worrying moment marked the match between Bochum and Union Berlin, in the 31st week of the Bundesliga.
Portuguese defender Diogo Leite, a starter in the German capital's lineup, was hit directly in the throat by a powerful ball fired by Matus Bero in the 58th minute and was forced to leave the field on a stretcher.
According to official club sources and Sky Sports Germany reports, Leite has suffered a fracture in his larynx, a rare injury involving the cartilaginous structure of this organ.
As a result, the 26-year-old will not return to the field for the remainder of the season, to avoid any possible risk of aggravating the injury.
However, there is no shortage of positive news. Union Berlin has released a photo of Leite during his last public training session, showing that he has now been discharged from the hospital and visited his teammates.
"Look who was at training today to see the teammates sweating."
"Diogo left the hospital yesterday and visited us today. Now all that remains is for him to recover as soon as possible. It's good to have you back, Diogo," the club's post said.
Leite, who joined Union Berlin from Porto in 2023, has become an irreplaceable starter in the team.
He has played 30 Bundesliga games this season, 29 as a starter, scoring 1 goal and providing 2 assists.
His contribution was crucial in the team's historic qualification to the Champions League and in maintaining its elite status this season.
