The third and final day of Formula 1 testing in Bahrain brought back the smile on Mercedes' face after the problems it had the day before. The Silver Arrows actually took the first two places in these tests with Andrea Kimi Antonelli setting the fastest time by covering the track in 1 minute, 33 seconds and 669 thousandths, while Russell was in second place with 249 thousandths more than his teammate.
Ferrari showed its first minor problem after 3 excellent days. All the drivers powered by Maranello appeared satisfied with the work done and the reliability of the single-seater and the components they were supplied with, but Lewis Hamilton stopped right in the final moments of the tests after a long race simulation of 54 laps.
The first answer could be related to a fuel problem, to some long-term calculation error, but surely the alarm sirens have been sounded in Maranello. In the 138 laps conducted during this day Hamilton recorded the third best time by 540 thousandths more than Antonello.
Immediately after the 7-time world champion, Oscar Piastri with McLaren was positioned in fourth place, followed by Max Verstappen who ended this day of testing in fifth place. The top ten fastest drivers on the final day of testing were completed by Hadjar, Ocon, Colapinto, Bearman and Hulkenberg.
