Rice's "magic" goals against Real Madrid, icon Wesley Sneijder speaks: They're not like that, it's very easy to curve the ball like that. Here's whose fault it was

Declan Rice was the hero of Arsenal's 3-0 win over Real Madrid. His two free-kick goals found the back of the net and Gunners manager Mikel Arteta described them as "magic".
But according to a true master of free kicks in his footballing years, Wesley Sneijder, Rice's goals are nothing special, even though they look spectacular, as the wall and goalkeeper are completely wrongly placed.
"The wall was not positioned well for the first goal," said the former Ajax, Real Madrid and Inter player while analyzing the match for "Ziggo Sport". "Kurtua thinks Saka is going to shoot and he shoots with his left. So he moves the wall a little bit to the right, in order to maintain his corner of the goal. A right-footed player should never be allowed to shoot around the wall from that corner. It is unacceptable.
"It might sound a little crazy what I'm going to say now. It seems like it's very difficult, but for a player who shoots with his right foot, it's very easy. If you have a good shot, it's a very easy ball. When you're on the field, you see that the ball has to go around that wall. The wall was very far to the left," said Schneider.
Former defender Giovanni Van Bronkhorst was of the same opinion. "The wall is too far away and he can shoot beyond it. It's easy to shoot the ball like that," he stressed.
Schneider then explained the problem with Rice's second goal. "This one, it's too far. If you watch the replay, Courtois takes a step to the right. As a result, he has no chance in his corner. That comes from the uncertainty of the first goal. He jumps, no chance, goodbye, you conceded. If he stayed in his corner and trusted the wall, he would have waited for it," said the former Dutch footballer.
