Italy does not forgive 'betrayal', Gravina confirms that they will force Mancini to pay compensation

The news was in the air, but it has now arrived safely. The FIGC (Italian Football Federation) has decided to start the process to assess what are the legal limits of the compensation issue from Roberto Mancini.
The subject was addressed yesterday in the Federal Council and the decision was finally confirmed by President Gravina himself. The crux of the matter is Mancini's sudden departure from the bench of the Italian national team. It is assumed that Mancini has not fulfilled all the obligations set out in his contract with the FIGC.
"I informed the board about everything that happened in August, about the immediate withdrawal of Mancini from the contract with resignation. The board decided to mandate a professional to get a technical-legal opinion and understand what possibilities it might have on the hypothesis of a claim for compensation. The matter will be returned to the attention of the board after the opinion of a professional", - are the words of the FIGC president.
Just ten days before his resignation, Mancini was also appointed the coordinator of the U-20 and 21 national teams. "I no longer felt the confidence", - said the former coach, explaining his decision to resign and complaining in particular about the presence of a clause contract that provided for the termination of the contract in case of failure to qualify for "Euro 2024". Version hotly contested by the FIGC, underlining that the role of coordinator of all national teams and junior staff was widely agreed.
