Manchester United are looking for a goalkeeper, they are eyeing the promising

Manchester United have opened talks with the representatives of Espanyol goalkeeper Joan García, according to reports from Cadena Cope, which states that contacts began last Sunday.

The 23-year-old goalkeeper, one of the most promising names in Spanish football, has a release clause of 25 million euros, which will increase to 30 million euros at the end of the summer transfer window.

If García is called up for the first time with the Spanish national team, the clause will increase by another five million.

Joan García is currently Espanyol's starting goalkeeper and has had an excellent season in La Liga.

He has recorded 33 matches, made 121 saves, kept a clean sheet on 7 occasions and stopped 3 penalties.

In February, he was named man of the match in Espanyol's surprise win over Real Madrid, while two of his saves were named "Saves of the Month" during the season.

In addition to Manchester United, Arsenal and Bayern Munich are also following developments with interest around the young goalkeeper, who last year was declared Olympic champion with the Spanish U-23 team.

Manchester United have launched the search for a new goalkeeper following the uncertain performances of André Onana and his deputy Altay Bayındır, who have made several costly mistakes.

The English club are hoping to find a potential buyer for the Cameroonian goalkeeper, while Joan García is seen as a long-term and reliable alternative for the Red Devils' goal.
