The Kolo Muani effect ends, now Mota is again in "trouble" with

With Kolo Muania's extraordinary effect over, a strong attack alarm has returned to the Juve home ground. Since the Frenchman's last goal on February 7 in Como, only three of his teammates have managed to score, Mbangula in the first leg of the Champions League play-offs against PSV, Francisco Conceicao in the win against Inter and Dusan Vlahovic in the home win over Cagliari.

To recover from the defeat to Atalanta and maintain fourth place, Tiago Mota urgently needs to find his strikers.

THE PROBLEMS -  That Juve's attack was struggling was an issue that had been apparent since the start of the season. The Bianconeri have only one player who has scored in double figures (Vlahovic, 14), compared to three players from Atalanta (Retegui, Lukman and De Quetelare), Lazio (Castejanos, Pedro and Zakanji) and Milan (Pulisic, Reijnders and Leao) and two from Inter (Turam and Lautaro Martinez). However, the Bianconeri's offensive production has always been lacking, if we consider that the Bianconeri are sixth in terms of goals scored in Serie A (behind Inter, Atalanta, Milan, Lazio and Roma). Also, the goals scored are 61 in 41 games overall, less than one and a half goals per game and, most importantly, less than what Atalanta and Inter have managed in just 28 weeks of the championship (63).

KOLO MUANI-  The arrival of Kolo Muani seemed to have given the Bianconeri a boost in attack. With five goals in the first 270 minutes of Serie A and an assist for Conceição against Inter, the Frenchman had contributed significantly to three of the five consecutive victories, making a move that had so far shown some shortcomings even less predictable. Then, however, the former PSG player suffered a decline, inevitable for a player who was forced to play 784 minutes in a month and a half after only 463 minutes in 5 months. And against Atalanta, he ended up the victim of a terrible night, with only 28 balls touched (less than half of goalkeeper Di Gregorio).

VLAHOVIĆ-  Among the images of the humiliating defeat at the “Allianz Stadium” against Gasperini’s team, there will undoubtedly remain the slip of Dušan Vlahović, who gave “assist” to Lukamni for the fourth goal. On the first ball he touched, the Serb finished, deepening his defeat even more. On the other hand, his management (undisputed starter until December and the desire not to renew his contract that expires in 2026) has contributed to the fact that he has become an “absent” player, often immersed in his thoughts on the bench, more than a protagonist on the field. However, with the goal against Cagliari he contributed to giving Juve three precious points in the fight for a place in the Champions League zone.
