From fugitives to phenomena, how many hostages for Jovic and

Luka Jovic and Sergio Conceicao, each other's lifeline with a shared fate in the equation called "Milan". The Serbian center forward has woken up in the last month, having been teased by the coach in one of the most difficult moments of the "Devil" in recent years and, like the Portuguese, has responded in the delicate moment with appearances and goals.

Four goals in the last six appearances after months spent more in the stands than on the bench, not to mention the pitch. If Conceicao is able to end the season by mentioning the two finals reached on the pitch, a good part of the credit also belongs to the Serbian striker. It is useless to hide the fact that the coach's immediate fate was closely linked to reaching or not reaching the Coppa Italia final.

TRANSITION –  Once again against Inter, faced with an obstacle that in theory seemed insurmountable, Milan was able to find a way out by putting on a classic performance on the field where euphoria for the result and secret regret for a failed season were intertwined. The mood of the fans is easily divided by the question: “Why not always like this?”, which is a question that will hardly receive an answer. However, the impression is that the refrain recited initially by Fonseca and then by Conceição about the mentality and approach have found sublimation in the five seasonal derbies, experienced as undefeated (with three wins). All after six lost derbies last season.

COACH AND STRIKER –  Conceicao will finish the season at the helm of Milan, that's for sure. The Portuguese will try to enrich the trophy cabinet, which he has mentioned several times in recent interviews. Until the end of the season, he will try to keep the physical and mental condition of his boys high, then, as expected, he will say goodbye. A different story, paradoxically, for Luka Jovic. The center forward entered the list of bombers in the derby with a double "alla Gianni Komandini" (hero of the 6-0 in the 2001 derby).

Using the surprise effect, the Serbian showed that he has characteristics that neither Morata, Abraham nor Gimenez have been able to show on the field during the season. In the performance against Inter, in fact, in addition to the goals, as a true center forward in headers or close touches to exploit the opponent's mistake, Jovic showed important technical qualities and a calmness of play. He also included his teammates in the passes, with other characteristics that they may not have been able to use until the derby.

And here the dilemma is another: is this the real Jovic when he has no physical problems? Or, even in this case, is it a matter of attitude and approach? Of course, there is no correct answer, but it will be the Serb who will play his cards as the protagonist from now until the end of May, with an eye on the future. Precisely the one who has already played a Coppa Italia final.
