Resembling the Nazi symbol, Adidas removes the number 44 from Germany's
The Adidas company has decided to stop the online sale of Germany jerseys with the number 44. The reason is the design of the number, with the 4 being very similar to the letter S and 44 being interpreted as an "SS", a symbol of the Party's paramilitary organization of Hitler.

The news has been confirmed by the German daily Bild, which managed to extract a statement from the Adidas brand spokesperson, Oliver Bruggen, who clarified that the similarity was not tendentious at all.

"We have removed from sale the shirt with the number 44 of Germany. I can tell you that the design was prepared by the German federation itself and the similarity was accidental, not tendentious", said the Adidas spokesperson.

On the other hand, the German Football Federation announced that it is working with the relevant company to prepare another design for the number 4, so that the idea of similarity with the letter S is not created.

Until then, the number 44 shirt will no longer be available to order on Adidas' online sales page, to avoid misunderstandings with the Nazi symbol.
