PSG and Bayern "clash" in the Champions League, a Swiss judge decides justice

Sandro Schärer has been appointed by UEFA to referee the first leg of the Champions League semi-final between Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich, which will be played on Tuesday evening at the Parc des Princes.

Schärer most recently refereed the Europa League quarter-final between Bologna and Aston Villa. Earlier this month, the 37-year-old was named as a referee for this summer's World Cup in the United States.

Massimo Busacca was the last Swiss to referee a Champions League semi-final 16 years ago, in the match between Olympique Lyon and Bayern Munich.
