Senegal, ready to take the case to CAS!

It's an endless mess that continues to tarnish the image of African football. Two months ago, the Africa Cup of Nations final was turned into chaos.

Incidents in the stands and the spectacular abandonment of the pitch by the “Lions of Teranga” caused the match to end in total confusion, resulting in a 3-0 victory on the table for Morocco, confirmed by CAF at the end of March.

Since then? A deafening silence on the radio. Despite the Atlas Lions' administrative triumph, the African governing body has never officially announced the presentation of the trophy or medals, leaving a surreal doubt over the identity of the true champion.

The Confederation president himself seemed to be dodging the question, leaving it to the final judgment of world sport.

But the deadlock has finally been broken. According to RMC Sport, after three weeks of endless waiting, the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) has finally received the document that all of Senegal has been waiting for: the reasoned decision of the CAF Appeals Committee.

While this report confirms the technical defeat of the Senegalese team, it declares itself incapable of deciding on the issues of bonuses and the trophy.

The key lies elsewhere; obtaining this official file is the essential key to launching the next offensive. Now, Senegal can begin proceedings before the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS)!

Senegalese lawyers will be able to appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport to directly challenge CAF's decision and attempt to reclaim a title that, in their opinion, should not have been won behind closed doors.

Although no timeline has yet been set, the urgency is real. Matthieu Reeb, CAS executive director, assured observers:

"CAS is perfectly equipped to resolve this type of dispute, with the help of specialized and independent judges. We are aware that teams and fans want to know the final decision as soon as possible."
