Andrea Tedesco, the successor of Bledi Shkëmbi at the U-17 National Team, has arrived in Albania to immediately start his experience at the head of the small Rossoneri.

Tedesco takes this task at an important moment with the U-17 National Team that will participate for the first time in the final stage of the 2025 European U-17 Championship, which takes place for the first time in Albania, under the organization of the Albanian Federation of Football, in cooperation with UEFA.

In his first statement in charge of the Rossoneri, the Italian technician recounted his beginnings as a coach, starting from Casertana and further to Naples and the Malta U-19 National Team, after which he received the invitation to lead the U-17 National Team.

"I started training in Series C in Italy, with the Casertana team, and then I went to Romania, in the Romanian Series A with the FC U Craiova team, where I held the role of assistant coach. After this experience, I started to train the youth first, as the coach of Malta U-19.

Then I went to Napoli, first to the U-18 team and then I coached the youth team this year. In the meantime, the call came from the technical director of the AFL, Fulvio Pea, who created this opportunity for me to come here and lead the U-17 national team of Albania", said Tedesco, who has extensive experience in working with young people.

Further, he dwelled longer on the agreement with the Albanian Football Federation for the role of the coach of the U-17 National Team and the importance of organizing the finals of the European Championship for U-17 in Albania next year.

"When I communicated with the AFL, there was not much to say, as we quickly agreed, and then it took several weeks to complete the negotiations. Of course, I understand the great importance of working with the U-17 National Team, because it is a historic moment for the football community, for all the opportunities we will have, for those who go out on the field, for the whole team, the leaders and myself the federation.

It is the first time that the U-17 National Team participates in the finals of a European, moreover playing at home and in front of its own public, and I am convinced that all the fans, families and players themselves have the privilege to play the group matches and they will be very happy and give everything. Even we as a staff will give everything", - emphasized the Italian technician.

Tedesco also emphasized that football in Albania has undergone a significant growth and that representing the country in a European competition is a privilege.

"It is obvious that football in Albania has grown over the last few years, either thanks to the investments coming from the Albanian Football Federation and the many clubs. Therefore, being here is a privilege and pride and we will do everything to represent this nation through football, when the opportunity comes to play a match and get closer to a European competition", added the coach of Albania U- 17.

So, the Italian technician shared with the followers of fshf.org an interesting detail regarding his origin, which is partly Albanian, while he appreciated the atmosphere he found in Albania after his arrival and is looking forward to the start of work with the U-17 national team.

"I have a small Albanian origin, as my grandfather was part of the Arber community in Calabria, so it was probably fate that brought me to this country, where I feel very well.

I've been here for 24 hours, I've met a lot of people who are very kind, all the co-workers, the media, the coaches and all the staff I'll be working with in the future. I can't wait to start the matches. On August 12, we have the first training session with part of the team and I am very curious to get to know the players, go to the field and train", says Tedesco.

In the end, the Italian coach said that he has ambition and a winner's mentality and that the focus should be on creating an identity in the team, working to increase the level of the U-17 National Team and leaving a mark on Albanian football during the European finals .

"I have a winning and ambitious mentality. Of course, I understand that the groups will be difficult to face, but the important thing is to give identity to the team and the players and to have good performances, also for the perspective of the future, as we know that football does not end with the U-17, but we must try to increase the U-17 National Team for the A National Team and giving as many important elements as possible to these boys who will play an important opportunity.

Personally, I hope that my experience here will be useful for me, firstly for professional growth, but also to be able to leave something to this federation that has given me this opportunity, to play in a European", added the coach. of Albania U-17.
